Social media is a boon to human beings which transforms the whole world to a small global village. It enables to share ideas, acquire information and also offers an array of opportunities.
Social media has also made it possible for people to work from anywhere on earth. The importance of this virtual teaming is felt during today's crisis of Corona pandemic.
On the other side, the internet is an unregulated world that has no form of morals or laws to abide to. Young people are exposed to video footage of gun shootings, violence, verbal outbursts, nudism and explicit sexual content.
Too much addiction has distanced the human beings resulting in mental and psychological problems.
As Albert Einstein once said, “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” Social media is a great way to pass time and see what is happening around the world.

Josh Ochs believes there are FOUR Cs to social media
Connecting – when we use social media for connecting, we are growing our network of real people and helping to be more social.
Communication – When we communicate (by direct messaging or emailing people) to invite them to events or ask them questions, we are interacting in a positive way and using our devices with a purpose.
Comparing – When we compare ourselves to others. This causes anxiety and depression.
Consuming – When we have a spare moment in line at the bank, or we are bored in the passenger seat in the car, we might open our phone to check our instagram feed. Consumption robs us of great ideas, interactions and makes us less focused. (https://smartsocial.com/negative-effects-of-social-media/ )
So we should know which 'C' to be chosen to lead a healthy and happy life.
